creativity at it's best

I woke up early in the morning and thought of having a look at this week’s releases. Browsing through movie listings and reviews, I saw this eye-catching movie name- ‘Love,Sex aur Dhoka’.. At first I thought it was one of the crappy low budget movies. But I suddenly remembered there was a movie like this coming from the director of ‘khosla ka ghosla’ and ‘Oye Lucky…Lucky Oye’. I confirmed it and then became curious to watch it. I asked one or two of my friends to come with me, but no one was ready. The immediate question they asked me was ‘Who is the hero n heroine?’ People and their attitude will never change wherever they may be!!!

The final conclusion is no one was ready to come. But, the movie buff in me is never disappointed or discouraged… As usual, I booked a single ticket and went to the theatre all alone.

Everyone around me were couples and it seemed like I was the only loner out there. I sat on my seat and felt a bit alienated even though there was such a fuss around me. Thank God… the movie started soon and saved me from the lonesomeness.

There were no recognizable faces on the screen. But I was able to connect with everyone soon. The movie was so interesting and went at such a pace that I was amused when the movie ended thinking it got over so soon.

The director of the movie, Dibaker Banerjee did an excellent job and he again proved that a good cinema is created from a good story and a true passion for cinema. A good movie doesn’t need boisterous music or titillating scene sequences. Looking at the movie I felt all that the director did was an experiment which turned out to be successful. Not many can be as audacious as this guy.

As a whole, there are very few good movies like ‘Dev D’, ‘Wake up Sid’ and a few others which can be counted on fingers, created by out of the box thinkers and they all turned out to be good breaking the routine bollywood masala kind o’ crap. Thanks to the new talent and the audiences who are accepting such a kind of thinking. This seems to be a harbinger for many good movies to come in the near future.

And finally, many big heads in the film industry who consider themselves as king filmmakers… Watch Out!!! Your show-off might as well get washed away by a wave of such new talent…unless you break the conservative approach.
